Mapleline Farm
Mapleline Farm was founded in 1904 by Stanley Kokoski (John's great-great grandfather). John took over the farm from his dad in 1980.
The farm focuses on dairy production and maintains 100-200 cows. Their cows are not treated with synthetic growth hormones (rBST). They practice sustainable farming by using wastewater and cow manure as natural fertilizer.
Mapleline Farm provides milk at Berkshire DC and Hampshire DC, and supplies individual milk bottles at campus retail locations.
Their sustainability approach includes mixing wastewater from the processing plant with cow manure to create natural fertilizer, which is used on cropland to grow food for cows, creating a sustainable environmental and economic cycle.
The farm has been part of the Hadley community for over a century and continues to be a local dairy producer.
